THE WORKFORCE
CONNECTIONS CENTER

Our Workforce Connections Center takes a more comprehensive approach to supporting neurodivergent job seekers. We know that traditional workforce development centers may not offer individualized support for neurodivergent job seekers, especially those looking to upskill and expand their skillset. We offer tools to support every stage of the job-seeking process, including interest exploration, resume writing, interview skills, and so much more.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • We can help you learn about different job options based on your interests, strengths, and goals. These services may include career assessments, workplace tours, informational interviews, and hands-on activities that allow you to explore various industries.

  • We provided individualized support to help you build essential technology skills needed for today’s workplace. We offer one-on-one guidance in areas such basic computer skills, email literacy, navigating the internet, setting up email, completing online job applications, and using workplace software.

  • We provide support for you working towards successful and meaningful employment. We will give you one-on-one coaching with understanding job postings, completing online and paper applications, creating accurate work histories, and answering application questions clearly and confidently.

  • We provided personalized support to help you create strong, effective job application materials. We will provide one-on-one coaching that helps you identify your skills and experiences, develop clear and well-organized résumés, and write tailored cover letters that reflect your goals and the positions you are applying for.

  • Our computer lab allows you to have access to computers and technology in a supportive job development environment. You can independently use the computer lab to search and apply for jobs, work on résumés and cover letters, check email, and build digital skills.

  • We will refer you to a benefits counselor to help you understand how employment may affect your public benefits and financial supports as well as understand your options. Benefits counseling provides you guidance on topics such as Social Security benefits, work incentives, income reporting, and healthcare coverage.
