PROGRAMS
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, just 31.4% of adults ages 16 to 64 with a disability are currently employed compared to 72.5% of adults the same age sans a disability.
Since its inception, DIRT’s work has evolved from working with neurodivergent individuals in building transferable job skills to working cross-culturally and systematically with neurodivergent individuals, employers, and communities alike to diminish the inequitable employment rate through our unique programs.
INCLUSIVE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS
INCLUSIVE INTERNSHIPS
DIRT's internship program is available for neurodivergent folks with little to no successful work experience. Internship participants gain confidence and hands-on workforce experience to help them identify their unique employment strengths and navigate employment barriers.
EMPLOYMENT WORKSHOPS
In 2023, DIRT is offering various employment-based workshops for individuals looking to further their foundational work skills or want to learn what it's like to have a job!
INCLUSIVE WORKFORCE EMPLOYER PROGRAM
DIRT's employer program works to address disability hiring practices in the workforce. DIRT's goal is to motivate and support employers to hire, promote, and retain neurodivergent community members in the workplace.
Have you always been interested in creating a more inclusive and accessible workplace but are unsure how to begin? We're here to help! Complete the attached questionnaire, and we will follow up for a consultation at no cost.
DIRT ON THE ROAD PROGRAM
A public advocacy program that meets communities where they are with our mobile coffee truck to empower individuals and families with disabilities to utilize resources and opportunities, make informed choices, foster self-determination regarding their needs, and leads the way towards more diverse representation in workspaces.
All communities should have access to resources and information to best support themselves or the people in their lives.
